The New Plymouth Bridge Club is excited to promote their upcoming Contract Bridge event! Located in the heart of New Plymouth, the Bridge Club offers a range of sessions throughout the week to suit players of all skill levels.
Mondays at the club are a relaxed affair, with sessions that are open to everyone. The results are handicapped, ensuring a fair and enjoyable game for all. If you don't have a partner, no worries! Solo players are guaranteed to find someone to team up with. And after the play, there's always a social session at the bar, where you can have a few drinks and mingle with fellow bridge enthusiasts.
Tuesdays are the most competitive sessions at the club. This is when the top players regularly participate, so you can expect a challenging game. Walk-in pairs are welcome for all match point pairs sessions, and some competitions even have handicaps to level the playing field.
Wednesday evenings are dedicated to beginner, novice, and improver players. It's the perfect opportunity to brush up on your skills and learn from experienced members. The sessions are all pairs, with some restricting players to less than 15 NZ Bridge rating points. However, more experienced players are also welcome to join and play in unrestricted sessions. Plus, the club is hosting Pot Luck Pairs nights in 2021, where seasoned players are randomly paired with novices. It's a fantastic chance to learn from the best and test your skills against a variety of opponents. Just remember, on Wednesday nights, bidding is restricted to NZ Bridge Junior systems.
Thursday nights are the busiest sessions at the New Plymouth Bridge Club. With over 20 tables playing regularly, you can expect a vibrant and competitive atmosphere. Some pairs and teams sessions have restrictions for players with less than 40 NZ Bridge rating points, ensuring fair competition for all. Walk-in pairs are also welcomed for unrestricted sessions, so even if you don't have a regular partner, you can still join in on the action.
End the workweek on a high note with Friday's relaxed sessions. Open to all players, these sessions provide a great opportunity to unwind and enjoy a game of bridge. The results are handicapped, ensuring fairness, and walk-ins are always welcome. And if you're in the mood for some post-game socialising, many club members stay for drinks and nibbles, creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
