Operating from the fabulous 14-metre local Charter Boat named SUMO, Bream Bay Charters ensures a safe and comfortable fishing experience. SUMO is a purpose-built charter boat that replaced Cara J in 2017. With a maximum capacity of 16 people, SUMO travels at a quick speed of 13–18 knots to maximise fishing time. The boat is spotlessly clean and reliable, providing an ideal fishing platform.

SUMO is moored at Marsden Cove Marina, Berth C9 in Marsden Point, Northland, Whangarei Harbour, New Zealand. There is also a second pickup point at McLeod's Bay Wharf.
Bream Bay Charters offers a variety of fishing trips, including Line Fishing Trips, Day Fishing Trips, Evening Fishing Trips, Overnight Trips & Contests, and Big Game & Sport Fishing. Line Fishing Trips to the Hen & Chicken Islands are their most popular, with a boat travel time of only 50 minutes each way. Private charters cost a minimum of $1,800, groups of 10 or more are $180 per person, and individuals/casuals can join for $200 each. Gift vouchers and rod hires are available upon request.
Evening Fishing Trips to either Bream Head or the Chicken Islands are a memorable and affordable option. These trips are great for those with limited time, a specific budget, or families wanting to enjoy a summer's day. The evening trips offer beautiful sunsets, calm seas, and great fishing experiences. Private charters cost a minimum of $980 for up to 7 people at Bream Head, with groups of 7 or more priced at $140 per person.
