Braintree Bowmen Archery Club

Welcome to Braintree Bowmen Archery Club, a well-established club with a rich history of 60 years in and around Braintree, Essex. With a membership of over 100 archers, Braintree Bowmen remains an active and thriving club.

The club offers its members numerous opportunities to shoot, with sessions held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the summer months. In the winter, sessions are available on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This ensures that members have ample opportunities to practise and improve their skills throughout the year.

Braintree Bowmen Archery Club welcomes individuals of all ages, starting from eight years old and above. The club takes pride in its friendly and inclusive atmosphere, creating a supportive environment for archers of all levels – from beginners taking their first shots to experienced archers honing their skills.

Throughout the year, the club organises various events and competitions to keep members engaged and motivated. These events not only provide a chance to showcase their skills but also foster camaraderie and a sense of community among the members. From fun-filled barbeque shoots to competitive tournaments, there is something for everyone at Braintree Bowmen.

The club is located at the Blake House Craft Centre in Blake End, near Braintree, Essex. During summer from April to September, shooting sessions begin in the afternoon and continue until dusk. On Sundays, the club opens its doors at 9:00am and concludes shooting at 5:30pm.

For winter from October to March, shooting sessions are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, Saturdays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and Sundays from 10:00am to 1:00pm. These sessions take place at the Gosfield School Cut Hedge Park in Halstead Road, Gosfield, Essex.
