Bowmen of Petersfield
Craig, the organiser, warmly invites you to join Bowmen of Petersfield, a target archery club based in the charming town of Petersfield, Hampshire. The club welcomes archers from East Hampshire, West Sussex, and Surrey, whether you're wielding a recurve, barebow, compound, or longbow.
Year-round, the club holds shooting sessions at The Petersfield School. In summer, members enjoy a 100-yard range on the school fields. During winter, the action moves indoors to a 20-yard range in the Sports Hall. Members and visitors from other clubs with Archery GB affiliation are always welcome.
Bowmen of Petersfield is passionate about advancing archery at all levels. The club offers beginners courses multiple times annually for newcomers and those with limited experience. These courses are an excellent introduction to the sport. Corporate events and team-building activities also feature on the agenda, guided by professional instructors.
For Spring/Summer 2023, the club's shooting schedule includes Sunday mornings in the School Sports Hall from 10:00 to 12:30. Outdoor shooting takes place on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 18:00 to 20:00 on the school playing field. Sessions must be pre-booked, and prompt arrival is encouraged for setting up and clearing away.
Craig supports the Archery GB Range Returners Campaign, offering refresher sessions at £10 each, which include coaching. These sessions can be booked before committing to club and Archery GB membership.
The club is equipped with a team of Archery GB qualified coaches, including Level One, Level Two, and Senior coaches. Coaching is available upon request, typically on Tuesday evenings, to help you address specific issues or improve your overall skills.
