Eleanor would like to personally invite everyone in the sports community to discover The Bowling Green, a well-loved Lawn Bowls club in Rotherham. Nestled in the beautiful Clifton Park, it's an ideal spot for anyone passionate about the sport.
With four crown green bowling greens, there’s plenty of space for friendly matches. The greens are open daily, with extended hours during summer (April to 3rd September) and slightly reduced hours during autumn (4th September to 2nd October). Do note, the last admission is one hour before closing.
If you're curious about the sport, day tickets are available for just £4.00 at the Garden House Reception, and equipment hire is an option, requiring a refundable deposit. For those who plan to bowl often, season tickets are available—just call 01709 254588.
Eleanor stresses that The Bowling Green isn’t just for serious competitors. It’s also a social hub where members can enjoy camaraderie and community spirit. The club frequently arranges social events and gatherings, perfect for meeting like-minded folks.
Beyond bowls, Clifton Park offers a variety of other activities. There are tennis courts, a skate park, walking and cycling paths, a basketball court, and plenty of grassed areas for casual games. Don't miss the popular Parkrun 5 km event every Saturday at 9 am.
