Bowling at Borough Green Bowls Club is the perfect way to get involved in a local sport and stay active. Established in 1956, this club is renowned as one of the best in Kent, offering top-notch facilities and a friendly atmosphere. With a diverse membership of over 90 individuals, ranging from 12 years old and up, there's a place for everyone to join in on the fun.
The pristine condition of our meticulously maintained green makes for an exceptional playing experience. And when you're not out on the green, you can relax and socialise in our Clubhouse, complete with a dining room and lounge bar that's open daily during summer.
At Borough Green, there's a mix of both competitive and friendly fixtures with other local clubs. We have separate teams for men, women, and mixed play, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to participate and test their skills. Want to play more frequently? We offer weekly casual sessions on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings at the start of the season, making it easy for beginners to get involved.
We're proud to say that many of our members have achieved great successes in county competitions. In fact, some members started their bowling journey with us and went on to shine at the county level. It's no wonder our Club is highly regarded in the region!
In recent years, we've celebrated some significant milestones. In 2018, we clinched our first Millennium Trophy win, a proud moment for our Club. We also had one of our members, Jane Cogle, make it to the Semi-Finals of the Senior Singles event at the National competition. And let's not forget our Ladies team, who reached the final eight in the Top Club competition.
But the real icing on the cake came in 2022 with the Bowls England National Finals. Six members of Borough Green Bowls Club proudly represented us at this prestigious event. Di Sekjer and Jane Cogle made it to the Semi-Finals of the Senior Pairs, while Josh Rowe reached the Quarter-Finals of the Junior Pairs. And that's not all! Josh, Rachel Banks, and Jane Cogle even brought home Gold Medals for Kent in the Men's, Ladies Junior, and Senior Inter-County Championships. It truly was a historic year for our Club!
Whether you're a casual player looking for a friendly match or a competitive bowler aiming for the top, Borough Green Bowls Club is the place to be. Even if you're retiring from more physically demanding sports, our sport offers a fantastic opportunity to stay active and continue competing. We organise open days in May, mentioned in our 'Diary,' where anyone can drop by and try out the sport. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. We can't wait for you to join us on the green!
