Bowen Park Lacrosse Rink

Bowen Park Lacrosse Rink is a popular facility located within Bowen Park in the heart of Nanaimo. This outdoor lacrosse box is a great space for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the fast-paced and exciting sport of lacrosse. The rink is surrounded by natural beauty, with interpretive trails meandering along the nearby Millstone River, scenic waterfalls, and a duck pond. The park itself spans 36 hectares, offering a range of amenities for visitors to enjoy.

In addition to the lacrosse rink, Bowen Park offers an array of recreational facilities including an outdoor swimming pool (open during the summer months), sports fields, curling club, disk golf (disks available for borrowing), tennis courts, horseshoe pitches, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, lawn bowling green, and an outdoor amphitheatre available for private events such as weddings. The park also features two covered picnic shelters, making it a great spot for gatherings and celebrations.

Bowen Park was generously donated to the City of Nanaimo in 1918 with the condition that it be used exclusively for park purposes. The park has since become a beloved community space, providing opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature. The Bowen Park Administration Office is open Monday through Friday for inquiries and information.
