Boundary Arts Centre was founded in April 2012 by Siobhan Pownall, a professional dancer and teacher. Initially starting in a small local studio in Audenshaw with only a few students, the school quickly expanded within a few months. This growth led to moving into a slightly larger premises and opening another venue in Ashton. In 2014, they operated from three different sites in Tameside before consolidating into one venue in Ashton Under Lyne, which then gave rise to Boundary Dance Company.

As the school continued to expand and diversify its class offerings, they rebranded as Boundary Arts Centre.

At Boundary Arts Centre, students aged 5 and above have the opportunity to participate in prestigious government-accredited RAD Ballet IDTA Tap exams and Acrobatic Arts exams, further enhancing their skills and qualifications. Students aged 3 and above can also take part in IDTA musical theatre exams. Additionally, all students have the chance to showcase their talents in the school's annual showcase, which not only fosters personal development but also creates avenues for potential professional careers in performing arts. The centre also participates in mini performances and competitions throughout the year, with a track record of exceptional success.

The core values at Boundary Arts Centre revolve around hard work, discipline, and determination. The faculty encourages all students to believe in themselves and their abilities. The centre prioritises personal and physical well-being, providing a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn and grow.

To ensure the safety and appropriate support of every student, Boundary Arts Centre requests that parents fill out a new starter form. This form includes essential information about the child, such as health details, any medical conditions or previous injuries, and previous experience in dance or performing arts. The centre also takes into account students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to provide tailored support in classes.

Boundary Arts Centre takes pride in its contributions to the local community and remains committed to delivering high-quality performing arts education.
