Body Concept

Body Concept is a renowned gym in Thetford, New Zealand, specialising in fitness by design. With its establishment in 1996, the gym has steadily grown over the years, starting with a 2,500 square foot building. In 2004, due to the increasing number of members, the gym relocated to its current location, boasting an impressive 5,000 square feet. In late 2013, to accommodate the continuous growth, a large mezzanine floor was added, resulting in a total area of 7,000 square feet.

The facilities at Body Concept are top-notch, including an exclusive high-tech cardiovascular area that perfectly complements the new 3,000 square foot free weights section. The free weights section boasts two complete sets of dumbbells ranging from 2 kg up to 70 kg, along with a variety of Olympic bars and discs, power racks, and Olympic benches. The gym also offers a comprehensive range of fixed weight machines that target all muscle groups. After an intense workout, members can unwind in the sauna, available in both the Ladies' and Men's Changing Rooms.

They can also relax by topping up their tans or enjoy a protein shake or coffee in the gym's bar and lounge area.

As part of their membership, Body Concept provides a range of additional benefits to its members. These include 1 to 1 inductions, personal workout programmes, lifestyle assessments, nutritional advice through a 1 to 1 diet plan, and monthly body fat checks. Members can also avail monthly programme reviews to keep their fitness journey on track.

The gym is open from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays, and 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sundays. Body Concept also remains open on bank holidays, providing ample opportunities for its members to achieve their fitness goals.

Rod, the owner of Body Concept, is an experienced fitness enthusiast and a serious bodybuilder for over 22 years. As a personal trainer, Rod's skills and knowledge are backed by his achievements, including placing 5th in the Mr East Britain competition in 1998, 3rd and 2nd place in the Mr Hercules competition in 2000 and 2001 respectively, and qualifying for the Novice Britain by securing a 3rd place in the Ultra Bodies competition. Rod has also excelled in other physical endeavours, such as securing 2nd place in the Three Peaks Challenge in 2003 and achieving 2nd place in the Clubman Centre Championship as a sidecar cross passenger in the British Support Championship from 2005 to the present.
