BMX Sherbrooke is a non-profit organization based in Sherbrooke, founded in 2011. The BMX club provides children of all ages, both boys and girls, teens, and adults with a safe and exciting sport that allows them to stay engaged in a healthy and positive environment where family values are predominant. The BMX track in Sherbrooke is located at Triolet High School in Sherbrooke.
The club offers various courses and training sessions for different categories such as Recreational, Competitive, 100% Girls, and more. All courses for the 2024 season are available for registration. Before joining the club, it is mandatory to be a member of the FQSC (Fdration Qubcoise des Sports Cyclistes).
The main goal of BMX Sherbrooke is to provide a “mini training plateau” in the form of FreshPark modules near the BMX track. This training area will help children aged 2 to 6 to develop basic bike skills, improve their overall activity level, and enhance their movement abilities through BMX. The modules will also facilitate BMX discovery and initiation during events like the Cyclovia bike festival and activities in primary and secondary schools.
BMX Sherbrooke's training area will be usable by all types of bikes, offering learning opportunities for users of all skill levels and allowing the club to adapt to increasing membership and continue its development. The club is currently running a fundraising campaign to acquire the training modules.
In addition to training and courses, BMX Sherbrooke also has a team of dedicated coaches, athletes, and a board of directors. The club organizes local, regional, and provincial races and other events throughout the year. Equipment rentals, a club shop with branded merchandise, and a bazaar for trading used equipment are also available for members.
Overall, BMX Sherbrooke is committed to promoting the sport of BMX, providing a safe and inclusive environment for riders of all ages and skill levels, and contributing to the cycling community in Sherbrooke. Joining the club not only offers exciting riding experiences but also fosters a sense of community and teamwork among its members.
