The Blue Mountains Trail Horse Riders Club is a warm and friendly sports club based in the Blue Mountains, located west of Sydney, New South Wales. The club was established in November 1980 and has been dedicated to promoting and maintaining the use of trails and encouraging safe trail riding ever since.
Originally formed by a group of 26 horse riders, the Blue Mountains Trail Horse Riders Club has grown over the years and now welcomes riders of all levels. The club offers a supportive and inclusive environment for riders and allows them to partake in activities such as walking, trotting, and cantering, depending on their skill level.
One of the club's early accomplishments was a 350 km trek from Springwood to Forbes, which raised $650 in just six days for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). While the club now mainly focuses on day rides, its members remain committed to supporting local and charitable causes.
The current executive team consists of President Sabina Weber, Secretary Sigrid Barrah, and Treasurer Kendyall Jordaan. They can be contacted via phone or email for any inquiries or membership-related matters. The club's official address is 116 Sun Valley Road, Sun Valley, NSW, 2023.
Members of the Blue Mountains Trail Horse Riders Club enjoy a range of benefits. These include access to 24/7 public liability insurance when riding with any ATHRA club nationally, personal accident insurance at all ATHRA sanctioned events, and the opportunity to participate in education and training programmes. Additionally, members can take advantage of great merchandise and discounts from ATHRA's partners.
The club's social media presence and participation in directories highlight its dedication to creating a supportive community for horse riders in Sydney. By joining the Blue Mountains Trail Horse Riders Club, riders can ride with confidence and be a part of Australia's top representative body for trail horse riders.
