Founded in 1995 by "Queen Bee" Barbara Blakey O'Brien, Blakey Okanagan School of Irish Dance is a renowned gym located in Kelowna, British Columbia. The gym is part of a network of five sister schools in Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Kelowna, and Vernon, all owned and operated by experienced professionals in the field of Irish dance. The school is proud to be the home of the first-ever World Champion for Western Canada.
Blakey Okanagan School of Irish Dance offers top-level instruction in Irish dancing for children aged 2 and up. The gym's program includes classes for beginners as well as advanced dancers, with a focus on tradition and innovation through dance.
