Situated amidst unspoilt countryside, this 3. 5-acre Luxury Lodge carp fishery offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The venue is purpose-built with the carp angler in mind, ensuring that your fishing experience is unparalleled. It is located in a remote location on private ground, providing ample space and exclusivity. When you fish at Blackthorn, you are guaranteed plenty of room to relax and enjoy premium fishing at its best.
The lake at Blackthorn is home to 110 stunning 'hand-picked' VS fishery's strain, with weights reaching up to 47lb 6oz. These fish are simply breathtaking, offering a diverse selection of Mirrors and Commons that cater to every angler's preferences. Additionally, the lake boasts an impressive head of leathers, fully scaled fish, and several exceptional Linears and Zip Linears. These fish not only have impressive body shapes but also put up a vigorous fight, making for an exhilarating fishing experience.
Blackthorn Fishery takes pride in its record-breaking accomplishments, with a new lake record set in December 2022 at 47lb 6oz. The club hopes to witness their first 50lb fish in 2023, although only time will tell. The venue currently boasts 34 fish weighing over 30lb, with 8 of them surpassing 35lb. Blackthorn anticipates the addition of new 40lb fish to the four existing ones.
Most of the other fish on the premises weigh over 25lb, with many approaching the new 30lb mark. While Blackthorn is not a heavily stocked “runs water,” it is a specimen venue specifically designed for experienced carp anglers. Catching fish here can be a challenging yet rewarding experience.
The fish stocked in Blackthorn have a true British heritage, being born and bred in the UK by Viv Shears and Simon Scott of VS Fisheries. They are a combination of Suttons, Leneys, and Dink Crosses, collectively referred to as the 'sovereign' strain. These hand-picked fish contribute to the exceptional fishing experience and the quality angling opportunities available at Blackthorn Fishery.
For accommodation, Blackthorn offers a range of options to suit different preferences. The newest addition to the site is Blackthorn Pines Cabin, which can accommodate up to six people, including three anglers. The cabin features two en-suite bedrooms with super-king beds that provide a direct view of the lake. Its large, modern open-plan living area includes a 50" flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped kitchen for a comfortable self-catering break.
Blackthorn also provides luxury lakeside lodges that are designed for couples seeking a high-end self-catering holiday with a relaxing fishing experience. The lodges boast stunning interiors with large open-plan living areas decorated in modern, minimalist decor.
