Blackpool BMX Club's organiser, James, wants to share some exciting news with the sports community. Located in Stanley Park, Blackpool BMX Track has been a vibrant part of our community since it opened in the summer of 2011. Thanks to its affiliation with British Cycling, the track promotes the exhilarating sport of BMX racing for everyone, regardless of age or gender.
James and the team are always keen to welcome new riders from across the area. They have bikes and safety gear available for hire, making it easy for anyone to give BMX racing a go. With over 50 members, the club supports riders at all levels, from beginners to those regularly hitting the podium in national races.
The club is growing fast, and newcomers are always given a friendly welcome. Coaching sessions are held every Saturday, led by a British Cycling qualified coach. These sessions are split by ability, helping everyone get the focused training they need. New rider sessions kick off at 9:00 am every Saturday, perfect for those just starting out.
During these sessions, a Blackpool BMX coach will assess each rider's skills and offer valuable tips and encouragement.
On Wednesdays during the summer, the club runs open gate sessions. These are a more relaxed chance to practise on the track, ideal for honing skills and enjoying the sport with fellow BMX enthusiasts.
For the latest timings and availability of gate sessions, it's best to check the club's Facebook page, as they might change depending on volunteer availability. Fees for these sessions are £3 for members and £5 for non-members.

We promote the fun and exciting sport of BMX Racing for anyone aged from 4 to over 40, male or female. We also welcome new riders from all over the area and involve the local community too.
Club sessions are pre-book only through the club shop. On Saturdays we also run group coaching led by a British Cycling qualified coach.
Our New Rider Sessions run on Saturdays from 9.00 to 10.00am. Please arrive prepared with a long sleeve top and trousers, and we ask that you do not wear shorts or T-shirts.
