Welcome to Blackness Boat Club, a historic sailing club situated in the picturesque town of Blackness, Linlithgow, in Scotland. Established in 1972, our club is deeply rooted in local history and offers a warm and friendly atmosphere for sailing enthusiasts of all experience levels.
Located on the southern shore of the upper river Forth, midway between Edinburgh and Falkirk, Blackness Boat Club boasts stunning surroundings that provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying your passion for sailing. Whether you prefer the calmness of the river or the exhilaration of the open sea, our club provides an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Scottish waters.
At Blackness Boat Club, we pride ourselves on our excellent facilities, which cater to the diverse needs of our members. Our spacious licenced clubhouse is the heart of the club, equipped with a fully stocked bar and catering facilities. It serves as a social hub where members can gather, relax, and organise various activities. We also have a pier for short stays, offering convenient access to the water, and a boat park that can accommodate tenders as well as provide off-season storage for yachts, dinghies, and motorboats up to 28ft.
Membership at Blackness Boat Club offers great value for money, with exceptional amenities and a welcoming community of fellow sailors. We provide an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported, regardless of their skill level or experience. Our members share a common love for the sea and enjoy regular sailing events, races, and cruising opportunities throughout the year.
Steeped in history, Blackness Castle, which dates back to 1389, adds a touch of maritime heritage to our club. Situated nearby, it serves as a reminder of the rich seafaring traditions that have shaped this region. We are proud to be a part of that legacy.
If you are interested in joining Blackness Boat Club, we are currently accepting membership applications. We welcome boats up to 25ft with bilge keel or lifting keel designs. Additionally, we have two boats available for sale that come with moorings within the club. All membership applications are subject to approval, and you can contact our Secretary, Gordon Yates, for application forms or any inquiries.
