Black Lion Swimming Club

Ellie here, and I wanted to share a few things about Black Lion Swimming Club in Gillingham. Our club, established back in 1887, holds a significant spot in Medway and is highly respected across Kent. We’re proud to offer a range of swimming programmes suitable for all abilities and ages. Our club also has the prestigious Swim England SwimMark Accreditation, which ensures top-notch coaching and administration.

Our Head Coach, Jerome Moerman, leads the way with a well-structured training pathway. From our Learn to Swim programmes right through to National Level training, we’re the go-to club for anyone aiming to compete at the highest levels and constantly push for excellence.

In 2019, we teamed up with Universities at Medway to create “Team Medway Swim.” This squad benefits from university-level expertise and resources, giving our swimmers an extra edge.

For over a century, we’ve been dedicated to nurturing and inspiring swimmers. Our devoted coaching team, alongside our volunteers and committee members, assures that everyone gets the support they need to reach their goals. Our club's impressive records and numerous successes in regional and national competitions reflect our commitment to excellence.
