Not something he likes to brag about. Mike has been coaching at BUAC for the last 10 years and specialises in sprints and hurdles. He has coached athletes to success at both the BUCS and national level, with several athletes earning podium finishes. Mike's coaching philosophy focuses on developing athletes' speed, power, and technique, while also emphasising mental preparation and race strategy.

He believes in creating a supportive and positive training environment where athletes can thrive and reach their full potential.

Elizabeth Jenkins Endurance Coach elizabethjenkins@bham. Elizabeth is a former middle-distance runner and a graduate of the University of Birmingham. She has been coaching at BUAC for over 5 years and works primarily with the endurance group. Elizabeth has a passion for long-distance running and understands the physical and mental demands of training and competing in endurance events.

She takes a holistic approach to coaching, focusing on developing athletes' aerobic capacity, strength, and race tactics. Elizabeth also emphasises the importance of rest and recovery in achieving optimal performance. Under her guidance, several athletes have achieved personal bests at various distance events.

Benjamin Turner Jumps & Multis Coach bturner@bham. Benjamin is a former national champion in the long jump and triple jump and has represented Great Britain at international competitions. He has been coaching at BUAC for the past 3 years and works primarily with the jumps and multis group. Benjamin's coaching style is focused on technique and plyometric training to improve athletes' power and explosiveness.

He also incorporates strength and conditioning exercises to enhance athletes' overall athleticism. Benjamin takes a personalised approach to coaching, understanding that each athlete has unique strengths and areas for improvement.

Sophie Johnson Throws Coach sophiej@bham. Sophie is a former national record holder in the javelin and has represented Great Britain at multiple international competitions. She has been coaching at BUAC for the last 8 years and specialises in coaching the throws group. Sophie's coaching philosophy is centred around developing athletes' technique, strength, and mental resilience.

She incorporates a variety of training methods, including weightlifting, plyometrics, and specific throwing exercises. Sophie is dedicated to helping athletes improve their throwing distances while also fostering a love for the sport.
