Welcome to Birmingham Canoe Club UK! Located in Smethwick, our club is dedicated to introducing individuals to the exciting sports of kayaking and canoeing. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler, our small and friendly club is here to support you every step of the way.
With the assistance of our experienced paddlers and British Canoeing (BC) coaches, we prioritise your safety and aim to help you build your skills and confidence as you progress from the pool onto moving water. Our club meets every Tuesday at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre at 19:30, offering a regular opportunity for members to come together and enjoy the sport.
At Birmingham Canoe Club, we understand that not all members may have their own boats. That's why we have a small fleet of kayaks and canoes that can be used for learning and practising. Additionally, we have a range of equipment available for hire for those who want to venture further on trips. Whether you prefer flat water, moving water, or white water, we offer a variety of paddling options to cater to different skill levels and interests.
Our members also love to surf the sea and enjoy camping trips.
Established in 1953, Birmingham Canoe Club UK has a strong history and commitment to providing quality instruction. We offer a wide range of courses endorsed by British Canoeing, allowing you to gain official certification as you develop your paddling abilities.
