Hey Team,
Just a heads up from Sarah! Here’s the scoop on how we roll at Birkenhead City Cricket Club. Firstly, play fair and respect the decisions made by officials. Show respect to your teammates, opponents, and supporters, no matter how the game turns out. Let’s keep it all above board and in good spirits – no cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Teamwork’s our game, so let’s cooperate and aim for those shared goals. Make it to training sessions on time and show dedication to getting better. Put in your best, both on and off the field.
Take care of our club’s facilities and gear. If you spot any damage, give a heads-up to a coach or club official. Get into your club uniform and keep things neat. Show good sportsmanship by giving a congrats and a handshake to the opposing team after the game.
Birkenhead City Cricket Club has been around since 1897 and we’re proud to call War Memorial Park at 48 Mahara Ave, home. Fun fact: we got a sweet makeover in 2016 courtesy of an ANZ Dream Big competition – our club rooms have never looked better!
We’ve got a spot for everyone, from juniors in school years 5-8 to senior players. We're big on being welcoming and inclusive, so no matter your age or skill level, you’ll fit right in here.
Our focus on developing young talent is top-notch. We've got coaching programmes for juniors, ensuring they get the right support to ramp up their skills. Plus, we’re all about boosting female participation with our Girls' and Women's Cricket programmes.
Our facilities are ace – a well-maintained ground, top clubrooms with a bar and kitchen, and a uniform shop. The ground’s lush and ready for matches and training.
But it’s not just about cricket – we also host various social events and fundraisers throughout the season. Great times and great people – what's not to love?
So whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, Birkenhead City Cricket Club wants you! Registration for the upcoming 2022/23 season is open, so hop on board and join our cricket whānau.
