Senior Flying Instructor David Goode brings over 12 years of flying experience and is an instrument-rated pilot.
As a university lecturer at LaTrobe, he brings his teaching expertise and enthusiasm to his flying instruction. Senior Flying Instructor Colin Hokin, with his 37 years of experience and tenure as the club's former Chief Flying Instructor, ensures that students receive comprehensive training and learn safe procedures when flying.
Membership of the Bendigo Flying Club comes with a multitude of benefits. These include access to the RAAus Flying Training School, where members can obtain the RA Pilot certificate, Cross Country and Passenger endorsements, as well as RA BFRs (Bi-annual Flight Reviews). The club also awards an annual scholarship for aspiring pilots aged 15 to 23, enabling them to attain a Pilot Certificate. Members can also take advantage of aircraft hire services, with a range of planes available at reasonable rates.
The club facilities include a licenced bar, lounge, club rooms, briefing room, and tea and coffee facilities. Additionally, the club offers a child-friendly environment and boasts great views of the airport and local flying activity.
The Bendigo Flying Club regularly organises events and activities for its members. Every Friday evening, members gather for socialising, and throughout the week, they drop in for a chat and a cuppa. Exciting flyaway cross-country adventures and visits to other clubs by plane are organised, providing memorable experiences for aviation enthusiasts. The club also hosts regular events such as CASA AvSafety Seminars, RAAus Professional Development Seminars, and AvPlan and Ozrunways sessions.
Membership to the Bendigo Flying Club is available in various categories. Junior Membership, priced at $56. 25 per year, is open to individuals aged 18 and under. Full Membership, priced at $112.
50 per year, grants access to the club's facilities, community events, and exclusive flying privileges. Associate Membership, priced at $33. 75 per year, is available to members of Kyneton and Mildura Aeroclubs. All memberships are renewed on the 1st of July and are discounted quarterly to reflect the remaining time in the year.
