Ben Blake Davies | Specialist Personal Trainer is a reputable fitness professional based in The City of London and Brighton & Hove, offering a range of services aimed at helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. With a focus on rehabilitation, golf fitness, and executive health, Ben has extensive experience and knowledge in these areas.
Ben began his fitness career in January 2012, bringing with him a background in Parkour coaching and performance. Recognising the importance of rehabilitation and corrective exercise, he made it a central aspect of his training philosophy due to his own experience with disc issues. After working at a busy commercial gym for two and a half years, Ben joined Elevate LDN, a personal training studio within a multidisciplinary healthcare clinic in London's Square Mile. This allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of city professionals and work alongside chiropractors, physiotherapists, and osteopaths to assist patients in their recovery.
With a focus on continual learning and professional development, Ben obtained DNS rehabilitation and NASM corrective exercise qualifications, further enhancing his ability to help clients overcome various musculoskeletal challenges. His expertise in rehabilitation extends to training individuals recovering from a range of issues, including both simple aches and pains and complex spinal surgery.
In 2017, Ben designed the Executive Personal Training programme, drawing on his years of experience and knowledge accumulated up to that point. Collaborating with experts in performance assessment, he developed a comprehensive package to assist executives in achieving optimal performance while protecting their health from the demands and stresses of city life.
In 2016, Ben relocated to Sussex and expanded his services to include golf fitness training. By obtaining three golf-specific qualifications, including certification from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), he was able to tailor fitness sessions to help golfers enhance their performance. In October 2020, Ben joined Brighton & Hove Golf Club as their golf fitness trainer, further solidifying his expertise in this area.
Through his Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) certification, Ben is able to assess and analyse movement patterns based on our natural in-built mechanisms developed during early stages of movement. This approach allows him to identify and address movement patterns that may be contributing to issues and injuries, helping clients retrain their movements to alleviate pain and improve function.
Additionally, Ben's Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certifications enable him to evaluate golfers for physical limitations that may hinder swing efficiency. With TPI Fitness Level 2 certification, he can design tailored fitness programmes that address specific areas of weakness or limitation, aiming to enhance a golfer's performance.
