Established in 1965, the Belmont Lions Sports Club is an inclusive and family-oriented sporting club based in Belmont, Geelong. We are currently participating in the Geelong and District Football Netball League and our home ground, Elite Training Centre Oval, is conveniently located in Glyn Street.
Our facilities at Elite Training Centre Oval have recently been updated to enhance the viewing experience of both football and netball. We take great pride in our deep connexion to the local area and have been in a groundbreaking partnership with the Wathaurong Community for over 40 years.
With a membership base of 500+ active members and players, the Belmont Lions Sports Club provides the local community with access to play and enjoy football and netball. We offer a warm and welcoming social environment for our members and guests from all areas of the community, both at our clubrooms and our sponsors' venues.
At the Belmont Lions Sports Club, we cater to players of all ages and skill levels. From Auskick to senior football, as well as junior grades through to open-grade senior netball, we have teams for everyone. We are committed to fostering the sustainability and growth of our junior programmes, ensuring our long-term prosperity within the GDFNL.

The Belmont Lions Sports Club has a rich history. Originally founded in 1965 as the St. Bernards Football Club, we competed in the Geelong and District Football League until 1973. In 1974, we changed our name to East Belmont Football Club, and then in 1998, we became the Belmont Lions Sports Club.
In 2000, when the Geelong and District Football League decided to add netball, our club and the entire league embraced the new addition.
We currently field junior football teams ranging from under 10s to under 14s, as well as senior and reserve grade football teams. Our netball teams include under 13s, 15s, 17s, and senior grades A, B, C, and D. Our team colours are maroon, blue, and gold, inspired by the Brisbane Lions colours in the AFL.
Our home ground, Winter Reserve, located in Glyn Street Belmont, has always been where we play our matches. The main ground has dimensions of 146 metres in length and 130 metres in width. Additionally, we have a second adjoining oval of slightly smaller size. Both grounds are equipped with state-of-the-art light towers for nighttime training sessions.
We have recently renovated our change room facilities and social rooms in collaboration with the East Belmont Cricket Club, with whom we share the facilities.
