The monthly fees are $50 for juniors and $60 for seniors, and there is also a family membership available. Additionally, there is an association membership fee of $40 per year.
Training takes place in the centre's own dedicated and well-equipped dojo (gym), which is conveniently located in Ocean Grove. The dojo features a comfortable lounge area for visitors or parents who wish to remain for the duration of their child's class, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
The centre is led by Shihan Dave Jacobs, who holds the position of State and National treasurer of the World Karate Organisation (WKO) Shinkyokushin organisation in Australia, as well as being the National Chief of Referees for the association. With 44 years of experience in Kyokushin Karate, Shihan David successfully graded to Shihan, 6th Dan in Japan in 2019. Sensei Sue is another dedicated instructor at the centre, having achieved her black belt in 1994 and going on to obtain her 2nd and 3rd Dan ranks. She has also competed in numerous tournaments, including the Women's World Championships.
The Bellarine Martial Arts Centre is a proud member of the World Karate Organisation (WKO - Japan), and as a not-for-profit organisation, it has been operating for 20 years, producing state and national champions. The centre's commitment to excellence and fostering a love for karate is evident in their achievements.
