The Centre of Horseback Combat, a Horse Riding club in Hemel Hempstead, is thrilled to announce the upcoming Beginners & Advanced Camping Weekend Courses. These courses offer an exciting opportunity for horse lovers to learn and improve their skills in horseback archery. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced rider, there's a program tailored to your level.
The courses will take place on dates to be confirmed. The price for participation is £400.00 per person, which includes all necessary equipment, camping accommodation (optional), and delicious meals such as pub lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and a Saturday night BBQ with vegan/vegetarian options available.
To secure a place in these courses, there is a £150 deposit required, with full payment due three weeks before the course weekend. Please note that spaces are limited to 10 people, so early booking is recommended. Riding hats are mandatory for all students and can be provided by the organisers.
If you're interested in attending, a booking form can be obtained by contacting the organisers via email. Deposits can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone or by BACS. For additional information and answers to common questions, please visit the Q&A page on the website.
For those looking for a more extended version of the one-day course, we also offer the Beginners to Horse Archery Weekend Camps. These camps cater to a maximum of 10 persons and cover various aspects of horseback archery, including history, modern competition rules, bows, and arrows used, and shooting techniques from horseback. Participants will learn the thumb draw technique, with a focus on Korean style archery, while also exploring Mediterranean style archery. The course also includes fun team games and concludes with a friendly competition. Please note that confidence at canter and the ability to ride without reins are prerequisites for attending this course.
In an exciting development, we are delighted to announce that Mihal Cozmei, one of the world's best horseback archers, will be our special guest instructor for the Intermediate/Advanced Weekend Camps. Mihal, who currently resides in Finland, holds the highest grading of HA7 and competes internationally. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from his vast knowledge and improve their skills. Horses will be provided by The Centre of Horseback Combat, and camping facilities will be available on site, including a BBQ on Saturday evening. Please note that participants must bring their own equipment for this course. To secure a place, interested individuals can contact the organisers via email. Please note that these camps are not suitable for beginners, but alternative options are available.
The captivating 2000-acre Gaddesden country estate serves as the picturesque backdrop for this learning experience. Whether you choose to camp on site or opt for local B&B or hotel accommodation, you're in for a treat. Local pub lunches will be provided for all camps, with the option to bring your own food if preferred or for dietary restrictions. Additionally, a Saturday night BBQ and an opportunity to learn throwing knives will add more excitement to this special weekend course. The second day of the course will focus on progressing and exploring new styles and techniques.
