Hello sport enthusiasts,
Lisa here wants to extend a warm invitation to everyone in the community to join the fun at Begbroke Bowling Club. Nestled in the charming village of Begbroke, just near Kidlington, Oxford, this little club has been around since 1953 and welcomes both ladies and gents with open arms.
The club’s green is top notch, with room for five rinks, making it perfect for both relaxed and competitive games. Spectators can enjoy the view from the seating area or kick back on one of the benches surrounding the green - there’s plenty of space to chat and chill.
In April 2015, the club got a shiny new clubhouse. It’s got everything you need for a great day out: spacious changing rooms, toilets, and a bar with limited opening times. After a game, everyone’s welcome to pop in for a drink and a natter.
Begbroke Bowling Club is all about friendly games, no league stress here. They love welcoming other clubs for friendly matches, including those just passing through. Their green is kept in tip-top shape with a careful maintenance routine, ensuring the best playing conditions.
Membership is a steal at just £40 a year. Every Friday evening at 6:00pm during the bowls season, members meet for a friendly roll-up game, followed by a social gathering in the bar. New faces are always welcome, and there’s tuition available for anyone new to the sport.
The club is part of the Begbroke Village Hall which has loads of other facilities: a children’s play area, four acres of fields, and a community orchard. The hall is great for private events or regular activities, adding to the buzz of our local community.
Whether you’re a seasoned bowler or just curious to give it a go, Begbroke Bowling Club is the place to be. Come along, have some fun, and become part of this friendly and welcoming club.
See you on the green!
