Bedford Jujitsu & Martial Arts is a martial arts club located in Bedford, New Zealand. With a strong focus on self-defence and martial arts training, the club offers classes twice a week for both male and female students of all ages. Many students from neighbouring areas such as St Neots, Milton Keynes, and Bedford, as well as the surrounding villages of Biddenham, Bromham, and Kempston, choose to train at Bedford Jujitsu.
The club is proud to have certified coaches who are affiliated with the BJJA, the National Governing Body established in 1960. These instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classes, ensuring students receive top-quality instruction in a safe and friendly environment.
One aspect that sets Bedford Jujitsu apart is its commitment to providing self-defence training specifically for women and girls. The classes are designed to be friendly and safe, while also focusing on real-life self-defence scenarios. Unlike other martial arts clubs that offer separate sessions for women, Bedford Jujitsu believes that practising with training partners of all shapes, sizes, and genders enhances the learning experience. Prospective students are encouraged to watch a class before joining, giving them the opportunity to see the dynamic and inclusive training environment firsthand.
Bedford Jujitsu follows a unique martial arts style that incorporates various techniques from traditional Japanese Ju Jitsu, including strikes, chokes, throws, joint-locks, pressure points, grappling, ground fighting, mixed martial arts (MMA), hand-to-hand combat, and weapons combat. The club has carefully selected and integrated the most effective components from different martial arts styles, creating a comprehensive and practical approach to self-defence.
Classes are held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. The training sessions take place at Bedford Martial Arts, specifically in the Dance Studio of Biddenham Upper School. Detailed class fees and membership information can be found on the club's website, where prospective students can also purchase passes and register for classes online.
The club operates under a strict privacy policy and ensures that all personally identifiable information provided by students is protected. Students under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian to participate in the classes. Additionally, the club emphasises responsible training and urges students not to attempt any techniques or practises without proper supervision.
Bedford Jujitsu & Martial Arts is dedicated to providing high-quality training and empowering individuals with essential self-defence skills. Join the club today and embark on a journey of personal growth, physical fitness, and martial arts mastery.
