Sensei John Smith here, founder of Battalion Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Just wanted to give you a heads-up on some key info about our programmes here in New Plymouth.

First up, our teens programme is designed for those aged 13 to 15. It's all about building skills, discipline, and confidence in a supportive environment. Our instructors work closely with the teens to help them develop leadership qualities and improve their technique. Each session is 60 minutes, focusing on the basics like take-downs, positional control, escapes, and submissions. We also mix in some physical conditioning and fun games to keep everyone engaged.

For adults aged 16 and above, whether you're a total beginner or have some experience, our classes cater to all levels. The beginner classes are also 60 minutes, covering the basic positions, techniques, and self-defence moves. For those with more experience, the intermediate/advanced sessions last 90 minutes and dive deeper into advanced positions, submissions, and gi/no-gi grappling. Sparring is a key part of these classes to test your skills against different opponents.

Here's a quick look at the timetable:

**Monday:**
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Kids BJJ (Mat Monsters)
- 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Beginner BJJ
- 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm: Intermediate/Advanced BJJ

**Tuesday:**
- 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm: Kids BJJ (BJJ Fundamentals)
- 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm: Teens BJJ
- 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Adult BJJ (All Levels)

**Wednesday:**
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Kids BJJ (Mat Monsters)
- 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Beginner BJJ

**Thursday:**
- 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm: Kids BJJ (BJJ Fundamentals)
- 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm: Teens BJJ
- 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Adult BJJ (All Levels)

**Friday:**
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Kids BJJ (Mat Monsters)
- 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Beginner BJJ

**Saturday:**
- 10:00 am – 11:00 am: Open Mat
- 11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Kids BJJ (BJJ Fundamentals)
- 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Teens BJJ
- 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Intermediate/Advanced BJJ

Remember, Sensei John started this academy in 2005 to share his passion for Brazilian jiu-jitsu. With over 20 years of experience and a black belt under his belt, he’s here to guide you every step of the way. The academy has grown into a respected club, helping students achieve success in competitions and life skills.
