BARTA Theatre Academy offers classes at three different locations, providing convenience and accessibility for our students and their families. Our main location is the Scout Hut, Pinewood Centre, Old Wokingham Road, Wokingham RG40 3AQ, where we hold Saturday afternoon classes for school years 2-6 from 1-3 pm and school years 6-11 from 3-6 pm.
We also have classes at Jocks Lane Pavilion, Binfield Rd, Bracknell RG12 2BH (Copse Suite) on Tuesday evenings from 6. 30-8. 30 pm for school years 11 to age 21. Additionally, we have an academy in Truro, located at Archbishop Benson C of E Primary School, Bodmin Road, Truro, TR1 1BN, offering classes for school years 2-11.
At BARTA Theatre Academy, we believe in providing the highest level of training in dance, vocal, and drama while also creating a supportive and encouraging environment. Our facilitators are constantly creating engaging sessions that respond to the needs of the group, ensuring that our students feel motivated and empowered to explore their creativity and develop their skills.
Our drama classes aim to equip young people of all ages with skills in a structured and highly motivated environment. Classes start with improvisational activities for younger age groups and progress to textual and structured work for older age groups. Students will learn methods, techniques, script work, characterisation, and improvisation.
In our dance classes, students will explore various dance styles, including musical theatre, contemporary, modern, and street dance. Whether a beginner or experienced dancer, our classes provide interesting and challenging opportunities for students to create and choreograph their own individual and group routines using different techniques and styles.
At BARTA Theatre Academy, we believe that everyone can learn to sing correctly and improve their technical ability. Our singing classes focus on developing vocal techniques, building confidence and performance skills. Our oldest groups place a heavy emphasis on vocal technique and complex harmony.
We take pride in the positive feedback we receive from both parents and students. Our productions, such as “Alice in Wonderland” in Wokingham, have garnered praise for their high standards and professionalism. Check out our website for testimonials from satisfied parents and students.
