Recognised as home to Gloucestershire's best bowling green, it hosts prestigious matches like the Middleton Cup and its 2012 Quarter Final.

A memorable event at Barnwood was the surprise 90th birthday for former Welsh international hockey player, Sheila Howitt. Andy, in collaboration with Hockey Wales and Cap Researcher Phil Bailey, delivered a heartfelt celebration. Sheila, who earned her Welsh cap in 1954, was honoured again at Barnwood as part of the Hockey History Project.

The event saw hockey legends like Sheila Morrow, Nan Thomas, and Phoebe Richards gather to celebrate Sheila's contributions to the sport. The celebration left a mark, with many praising the seamless organisation by Hockey Wales and the club.
