Barnard Castle Cricket Club, located in the picturesque Teesdale region of Barnard Castle, is a friendly and inclusive cricket club that has been serving the community since its establishment in 1832. Over the past decade, the club has experienced remarkable success, with all its teams consistently winning numerous trophies. At Barnard Castle CC, the dedication goes beyond just cricket. The club strives to be a vital part of the Barney community and has taken extensive measures to modernise its facilities, including the ground and clubhouse.
Juniors play a crucial role at Barnard Castle CC, as they form the foundation of the club's success. The 1st XI team, which recently became the North of England Twenty20 Champions in 2021, featured seven players who had progressed through the club's junior ranks. With the aim of continuing to excel in club cricket in England, the club places great emphasis on junior cricket. Training and matches are held at the ground four nights a week throughout the summer, catering to boys and girls aged five to 17.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Barnard Castle CC has adapted and continues to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for players and supporters alike. Now, as the community and the club look forward to brighter days, all are welcome to be part of the Barnard Castle Cricket Club family.
