Balmoral Sailing Club's Junior Sailing Program is the perfect opportunity for young sailing enthusiasts, aged 9 and above, to take their skills to the next level and get involved in club racing. Running from September through to May, this program offers a comprehensive learning experience for juniors who are passionate about sailing.
Led by qualified coaches from Balmoral Water Sports (BWS), participants will benefit from both on-water and off-water instruction. This ensures that they not only gain practical skills on the water but also understand the essential theoretical knowledge required for successful sailing. Safety is our top priority, and we provide a safe environment with a dedicated safety patrol boat and trained operators.
In addition to honing their sailing abilities, juniors in our program will have the exciting opportunity to take part in club and interclub racing events. This gives them the chance to showcase their skills, compete against other talented sailors, and foster a sense of camaraderie within the sailing community.
Our Junior Sailing Program is open to all aspiring sailors, and we welcome other boats alongside our current fleet of MJs and Open Bics. For those who want to give it a go, we have loaner boats available for use. Boat owners can also take advantage of our racking facilities through the club.
We strongly encourage the involvement of families in supporting their child's passion for sailing. It's an amazing opportunity for parents to connect with their child's interests and actively participate in their sailing journey. We welcome at least one parent to volunteer and assist in both on-water and off-water activities.
But it's not all about sailing. Balmoral Sailing Club also believes in creating a sense of community and enjoyment off the water. That's why we organise various social activities such as BBQs, pizza nights, and prize nights. These events provide an opportunity for sailors and their families to relax, socialise, and celebrate their achievements together.
