BalletBesque School of Dance in Crowborough is the go-to spot for dance enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Helmed by an experienced team including Carla, Kellie, Sam, and Lucy, the school specialises in professional ISTD Ballet and Modern Dance training.
BalletBesque fosters creativity from an early age, starting with their Pre-School Dance Class for children as young as 3. Following the Imperial Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre Syllabus under ISTD, they integrate Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) to enhance learning. Whether students aim for exams or just enjoy dancing, there's a place for everyone.
For those aged 8 and above with professional aspirations, BalletBesque offers intensive programmes. The Junior BalletBesque intensive (JBi) gives 9-11 year-olds up to 8.5 hours of training weekly, while the Senior BalletBesque intensive (SBi) provides 12-14 year-olds with up to 11 hours.
Adults aren’t left out either. Ballet classes for leisure come in three levels: Introduce, Improvers, and Intermediate, plus Pilates and Barre sessions on Tuesdays. Private lessons are also available for personalised coaching tailored to individual goals.
Classes are offered at multiple locations. Crowborough Community Centre hosts Grade 1 and 2 ballet, modern dance for ages 9+, as well as adult classes like Pilates with Sam Haslam and Barre with Kellie. Hadlow Down Village Hall caters to younger dancers with Pre-School Ballet & Modern, alongside Grade 1 and 3 ballet.
