Welcome to Balkan Dance for Fitness, a small international group of enthusiasts in Cambridge, UK. Established in June 2021, our goal is to popularise Balkan dance as a fun and social way to stay fit and active. We meet every Friday from 7-8pm in Trumpington, Cambridge.
At Balkan Dance for Fitness, we focus on learning and practising fast-paced and dynamic non-couple dances from Bulgaria and Greece. However, we also explore dances from other regions such as Turkish Thrace, the Pontic region, the Middle East, and Caucasus nations. Our main aim is to provide an intense cardio workout while immersing ourselves in a cultural experience and, most importantly, having fun.
We welcome everyone who is interested in trying Balkan dance and are always eager to hear from people who can teach dynamic non-couple dances from any part of the world. Our group is not-for-profit, but we kindly request attendees to make a small contribution (3) to help cover the expenses.
