About

Balham Boxing Club, founded by Winston Fuller in 1988, is a renowned Boxing Club located in London on Cavendish Road. Initially starting at the back of his cab office, the club quickly gained popularity and had to move to a larger venue in 1992, known as The Park Tavern pub in Streatham, which is now called The Furzedown. Unfortunately, after three years, The Park Tavern had to close down, but Balham Boxing Club continued to fight and found a new suitable venue called Hildreth Mews Market. Here, the club thrived and trained boxers successfully for another three years.

In 1998, developers took over the Hildreth Mews Market site, and once again, Balham Boxing Club had to close its doors. However, the club didn't give up and returned to its roots on Cavendish Road in Balham, where it all started. The club has been situated in the building formerly known as the Triangle Youth Club since 2008. What sets Balham Boxing Club apart is its strong family-run organisation.

All staff members are volunteers who had previous involvement with the club before becoming part of the team. This dedication to the club's success and the family ethos creates a welcoming and supportive environment for all members.

Balham Boxing Club believes that there is no such thing as can't. Their mission is to be a place where anyone can come to get fit and feel healthy. What sets them apart from other boxing clubs is their approach to fitness. They combine the best aspects of all types of fitness and sports, adapting them to suit the needs of all their users.

This unique approach redefines what a state-of-the-art boxing club can be and what they can achieve. Balham Boxing Club takes care of everything else to ensure that showing up is the hardest part for the members.

The team at Balham Boxing Club includes the founder and head coach, Winston Fuller, who is supported by Secretary, Coach, and Event Organiser Tasha, Coach and King Motivator Tony, Junior Coach P Sandhu, Coach P Campbell, and Welfare Officer Debbie. Each member of the team plays a crucial role in making Balham Boxing Club possible.

The club offers classes for juniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5 pm. This class is open to children aged 7 and above and includes mixed training from the basics upwards. It caters to children who want to get fit, learn a new skill, gain confidence, or grow to box and compete.

Additionally, Balham Boxing Club offers a class for first-timers or starters on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. This class is designed for anyone who has not been to the gym before, is new to the sport, or simply wants to try something new to get fit. Participants in this class will learn the fundamentals of the sport, such as stance, technique, and fitness, before transitioning into more advanced stages.

At Balham Boxing Club, their promise is that no one will ever feel left out. Each class is tailored to suit the range of individuals within the session as much as possible, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all members.

Overall, Balham Boxing Club provides a unique and inviting space for individuals of all ages to pursue their fitness goals and boxing aspirations. With their experienced team, innovative approach to fitness, and commitment to their members, Balham Boxing Club proves that there is no such thing as can't.
