Established by Jon, a highly experienced martial artist with over 30 years of experience, Balance MMA is dedicated to providing top-notch training in disciplines such as Karate, Jiujitsu, wrestling, boxing, Thai boxing, and strength conditioning. Jon, a BJJ brown belt under Shaun Matthew’s BJJ (Team Lagarto), is not only the founder but also an active participant in training and competing in BJJ competitions, even at the age of 46.
Since its inception in January 2020, Balance MMA has experienced remarkable growth. What started off as small group sessions and 1–1 sessions in MMA and strength and conditioning quickly outgrew its initial location. In July 2021, the gym made the exciting move to unit 7 Boathouse Lane, allowing for larger group sessions and an expanded schedule.
The gym's schedule has been carefully crafted to cater to both casual hobbyists and those with competitive aspirations. With a team of five highly skilled coaches and a rapidly growing number of students, Balance MMA has formed a formidable fight team that competes in a variety of disciplines, including MMA, Jiujitsu, K1/Thai boxing, and BJJ. The gym has proudly produced successful competitors in grappling tournaments as well.
