Bai Rui Taekwon-Do North Lakes is a renowned fitness centre, gym, and martial arts club located in North Lakes, Queensland. Mrs Povey has an impressive track record as an instructor, having trained students ranging from white belt to 2nd Dan black belt. She has experience teaching classes with sizes ranging from 2 to 50 students at a time. Mrs Povey has participated in numerous classes, camps, seminars, and courses conducted by Senior Master Charles Birch, the founder of Bai Rui school. These include Black Belt and Senior Black Belt classes, Instructor courses, and Master seminars.

In addition to her extensive training experience, Mrs Povey has a strong background in tournaments. She holds a Class A Referees badge and has competed in several international tournaments as a competitor. Her speciality lies in sparring, and she has achieved remarkable results, including multiple National and Oceanic champion titles. Notably, she made history as the first Australian adult female competitor to win a Bronze medal in individual sparring at the 2007 ITF World Championships.

As an instructor, Mrs Povey prioritises technical training and ensuring her students understand the reasoning behind the techniques they learn. She is first aid qualified and holds a blue card, demonstrating a commitment to safety and the well-being of her students.
