Keith Gour is passionate about teaching traditional Shotokan Karate and self-defence techniques. As the founder of Aylmer Karate-Do Self Defence & Fitness in Gatineau, he aims to promote the true essence of Karate-Do and the “perfection of character” as intended by Gichin Funakoshi Sensei. Keith has a wealth of experience in martial arts, having achieved his Shodan (first-degree black belt) in 1988 and his Nidan (second-degree black belt) in 1996. He has also served as the head instructor of Gloucester South Karate and as a Karate instructor for the City of Gloucester.
At Aylmer Karate-Do, students can expect quality instruction in traditional Shotokan Karate, as well as self-defence techniques drawn from other martial arts such as Judo, Aikido, Brazilian Jujitsu, and Muay Thai kickboxing. The club follows the curriculum of the Canadian Martial Arts Association and places importance on training effective self-defence techniques.
In addition to Karate classes, Aylmer Karate-Do also offers free kickboxing classes to its members. Private group lessons are available at excellent rates for those looking for more personalized instruction.
