Aylesbury Aikido

Aylesbury Aikido is the top Aikido club in Aylesbury, New Zealand. Aikido is a practical and effective defensive martial art that works by using the attacker's force against them. Unlike other martial arts that rely on brute force blocking and counter striking, Aikido focuses on blending with an attack and redirecting it. This makes it suitable for individuals of all sizes and physical strength.

At Aylesbury Aikido, we believe that Aikido is an extremely efficient self-defence system that utilises balance-taking and posture-breaking movements to achieve joint locks, pins, and throws. Our club welcomes both beginners and experienced Aikido practitioners. Whether you want to join in and practise or simply observe, you are free to do so.

Aylesbury Aikido is part of the Kai Shin Kai Traditional Aikido Association (KSK), which is a founder member of the Aikido Alliance UK. As the oldest Aikido club in Aylesbury with over 30 years of training experience, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the art of Aikido. Our club meets every Thursday from 8:00pm to 10:00pm at the Haydon Hill Community Centre in Dickens Way.

If you don't have the correct Aikido clothing, don't worry. Just wear loose clothing with some flexibility and no buttons or zips that may dig into you. Our club can provide a gi for you. We do ask that you leave any jewellery at home, as the club cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.

Our instructors at Aylesbury Aikido are experienced and registered coaches with the Aikido Alliance UK. They hold Public Indemnity Insurance to ensure the safety and well-being of our members. Our instructors include Brian Horsler, a 4th Dan Coach Level 2, Anthony Ward, a 3rd Dan Coach Level 1, and David Salmon, also a 3rd Dan Coach Level 1.
