ACT Ice Skating Association is thrilled to announce the upcoming Ice Skating event, Aussie Skate, designed especially for those who want to learn how to skate. This fantastic program offers basic skating lessons and graded tests to help skaters develop the necessary skills.
Aussie Skate is perfect for children and adults alike who wish to take part in group lessons or private coaching. These lessons are a great way to improve your skating abilities and gain confidence on the ice. Plus, the program provides an opportunity to take graded tests to monitor your progress.
The tests take place on the first Thursday of each month (excluding January) at the Phillip Swimming and Ice Skating Centre. Skaters who wish to take a test must obtain permission from their coach. These tests cover different levels and are conducted on a first come first served basis, so make sure to secure your spot early!
Oh, did we mention that skaters who successfully pass a test receive a well-deserved badge? It's a great way to showcase your achievements and mark your progress on your skating journey.
Not only does Aussie Skate allow skaters to progress through various levels, but it also acts as a prerequisite for participating in Aussie Skate Competitions and, later on, in the ISA testing program. So, whether you dream of becoming a top figure skater or simply want to refine your technique, this program is the perfect stepping stone to reaching your goals.
To ensure fairness, each skater is guaranteed two tests per session, with the possibility of additional tests if time permits. We want to ensure that everyone has a chance to showcase their skills and progress at their own pace.
