Josh, the organiser of all things polo at Auckland Polo Club, wants to share some exciting news about this year's events. Our club in Clevedon is back, proudly hosting the prestigious NZ Polo Open. We’re expecting 24 low-goal teams and six high-goal teams to join us, making it an event to remember.
We’ll kick things off with pool matches and build up to the grand final on Sunday, 19th February 2023. It's going to be an electric atmosphere, packed with excitement and some incredible parties. Thousands of spectators will gather to watch some impressive skills and horsemanship on display.
Also, mark your calendars for the Cambridge Homes Charity Weekend, happening on the last weekend of January. This popular event aims to raise funds for the Clevedon Volunteer Fire Brigade. Over the past six years, we’ve raised more than $35,000 for this fantastic cause. It's a family day out you won't want to miss, with plenty of fun activities and events.
Our club sits in the charming village of Clevedon, just a 40-minute drive from downtown Auckland. We’ve got two main polo fields and four additional ones nearby, along with our cosy 'country' style clubhouse right on the No 1 Fisher field.
Throughout the season, midweek chukkas and practices keep us busy, leading up to tournaments from mid-December to April. We welcome players of all levels and pride ourselves on our fun and inclusive vibe. It’s a great place to sharpen your skills, meet new mates, and enjoy the sport we all love.
Thinking about becoming a member? We’ve got full playing memberships that offer unlimited play and priority in tournaments, plus some great perks at our clubhouse and exclusive invites to events. There’s also a student membership for those under 18 and social memberships for those who just want to enjoy the perks without playing.
