Yunjia Zhang has swiftly risen to prominence in the world of fencing, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination on the international stage. Her journey in the sport began at the young age of 9, influenced by her fencing coach parents, particularly her mother whom she fondly refers to as the “épée god.” Despite facing fierce competition, Yunjia has proven her mettle time and again, capturing the hearts of fans worldwide. Beyond her athletic pursuits, she finds joy in snowboarding and cherishes her motto of resilience, 'I will be okay.' Moving from Shanghai to Toronto at the age of 12, Yunjia brings a unique blend of cultural experiences to her fencing prowess. Always accompanied by a toy piggy, she carries a piece of comfort and familiarity wherever her fencing career takes her. Under the guidance of her dedicated father Jie Zhang, Yunjia continues to inspire and push boundaries in the realm of fencing with her unwavering spirit and undeniable talent.
