Tom Walsh

Biography

Tom Walsh is not just a shot putter; he's a powerhouse on the field. With a strong presence in the international athletic scene, Tom has proven time and again his prowess in shot put, earning himself two Olympic bronze medals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, this two-time World Indoor champion has also secured the World outdoor title in London. Known for his consistency in winning medals, Tom's achievements include silver in Glasgow 2014 and consecutive golds in Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022. Setting a New Zealand record of 22.90m at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, Tom is a force to be reckoned with. Beyond his athletic feats, Tom is a fully qualified builder and a dedicated supporter of the Dyslexia Foundation of New Zealand.
