Kate McDonald, a talented artistic gymnast from Melbourne, Australia, has risen through the ranks to become one of the nation's top athletes in her sport. Starting gymnastics at just five years old, Kate's love for physical activity quickly turned into a passion that would define her career. Over the years, she honed her skills at MLC and Cheltenham Youth Club under the guidance of coach Jeb Silsbury.
Despite initially focusing on the uneven bars, Kate made headlines with an unexpected gold medal on the balance beam at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Her journey to the top wasn't without setbacks—she finished seventh in her favored event, the uneven bars, but her prowess on the beam shone through, earning her a place in Australian gymnastics history.
Kate's career is marked by a series of impressive achievements, including a bronze medal in the uneven bars at the 2018 and 2019 Australian Championships, followed by gold at the Australian Classic.
