Biography
John Peers, born in Clayton, Victoria, is one of Australia's most successful men's doubles tennis players. The son of former WTA athlete Elizabeth Little, John was practically destined for a tennis career. He made his mark early, leading Mentone Grammar School to two premierships. By the age of 13, he had joined the professional circuit, setting the stage for a prolific career.
Peers is known for his remarkable performance in men's doubles, where he has reached the finals of every Grand Slam except the French Open. His major breakthrough came in 2017, when he won the Australian Open doubles title with Finnish partner Henri Kontinen. The duo also secured the ATP World Tour Finals doubles titles in 2016 and 2017, making them a formidable pair on the tour.
John has represented Australia in multiple Olympics, making his debut at Rio 2016. Despite an early exit in Rio and Tokyo, he clinched an Olympic bronze in mixed doubles at Tokyo 2020 alongside Ash Barty, marking an important milestone in his career.
