Biography
Jack Robinson has been captivating the surfing world since he was just 12 years old, earning a reputation as one of the most promising young talents on the waves. Hailing from Margaret River, a region in Western Australia known for its heavy tubes, Jack developed a powerful and aggressive surfing style early on. His rise to fame began at a young age, gracing the cover of The Weekend Australian Magazine with a bold prediction that he would become a future world champion.
By the time he was 14, Jack had already topped Surfer Magazine’s Hot 100 junior list, and at age 15, he competed as a wildcard in the 2013 Oakley Bali Pro, catching the attention of the world’s best surfers. Joining the WSL Qualification Series in 2019, Jack showcased his expanding skill set, initially renowned for his tube-riding prowess, and soon demonstrating versatility both above and below the lip.
In his rookie year on the Championship Tour in 2021, Jack secured his first major victory at the Corona Open in Mexico, finishing the season ranked 12th globally. He built on this success with a notable win at the Margaret River Pro in 2022, followed by another triumph at Indonesia’s G-Land Pro, solidifying his status by qualifying for the WSL Finals and ending the year as the world’s No.3 surfer.
2023 saw Jack starting strong by winning the Pipeline Pro, where he outperformed surfing greats like Gabriel Medina and John John Florence. Even after a significant knee injury at Bells Beach threatened his progress, Jack's resilience and determination saw him recover in time for the WSL finals, where he finished fifth. Entering the Olympic year poised and ready, Jack was ranked No.2 in the world following his victory at the 2024 Sunset Beach Pro in Hawaii.
Known for his calm demeanor and meditative practices, Jack's mental toughness has been as crucial as his physical prowess in his journey to qualifying for the 2024 Olympics.
