Ellie Cole's dive into the world of athletics began with a twist – from gymnastics to the 10m diving platform. Born in Secaucus Town, New Jersey, Ellie relocated to Australia where her sporting journey took off. Inspired by the legendary Melissa Wu, Ellie transitioned to diving at the age of 11 and hasn't looked back since.
Her first international triumph came at the American Cup in Indianapolis in April 2024, where she clinched gold in both the 10m platform and 10m synchronised events, immediately marking her as a rising star in the diving world. Back on home soil in June, she faced off against her idol, Melissa, at the Australian championships, showcasing the strength and finesse that has become her trademark.
Ellie balances her rigorous training schedule with her academic life at Sydney's Presbyterian Ladies College. A lover of maths and physics, she aims to pursue engineering post-HSC. Her diversified heritage – an American father and a mother with Indigenous Australian and Ukrainian roots – adds to her unique persona both in and out of the water.
