Biography
Charlize Andrews, a rising star in the water polo world, was first discovered by triple Olympian Bronwen Knox during her teenage years. Like Knox, Charlize also attended St Paul’s School in Brisbane, where she began her journey in water polo, inspired by her older brother. Her raw talent quickly shined through, and by 2020, she made her mark in the Queensland Thunder team in the Australian Water Polo League.
Charlize’s natural ability to position herself for scoring and her intuitive grasp of the game has set her apart from her peers. She climbed the ranks representing Australia in junior teams and earned MVP titles at both the Youth and Junior World Championships.
In 2022, Charlize debuted on the senior national team, the Stingers, making her presence known at the FINA World League Intercontinental Cup in Peru and the World Championships in Budapest. Her impact continued to grow, and by 2023, she was among the top scorers at the World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, helping the Stingers secure a fourth-place finish.
