Callum Peters (AU)
Biography
Callum Peters, an up-and-coming talent in the world of boxing, has quickly made a name for himself. This young Aboriginal athlete caught the public’s eye at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he narrowly missed out on the middleweight gold in a fight against Scotland's Sam Hickey. At just 19 years old, Callum proved his mettle in a closely contested match that even left commentators at a loss to declare a clear winner. With a commendable amateur record of 51-9, Callum dominated the second and third rounds, leaving many to believe he should have won. Following this, he continued to sharpen his skills under the guidance of his father, Bradley, at North Central Boxing Club. In 2023, he clinched gold at the Pacific Games in Honiara, solidifying his spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Born in North Adelaide and now hailing from Davoren Park, Callum has been boxing for 11 years, driven by a desire to improve his fitness and prove himself in the sport. With the dream of representing Australia and the Aboriginal community, he stands ready to make his mark on the global stage.
