Stuart Tree here from Ashford Taekwondo, your local Tae kwon do school part of the TKD Power group, based in Kennington, Ashford. We’re thrilled to welcome everyone aged 7 and above to join us for a couple of free classes and get a taste of Tae kwon do and its fantastic benefits.
Tae kwon do, a Korean martial art, focuses on kicking, punching, and blocking. With roots over 2000 years old, this art has evolved tremendously and even features in the Olympic Games. It's an excellent way to boost health and fitness, focus, discipline, and overall well-being.
At Ashford Taekwondo, we follow the Taekwondo Oath and value courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Our school promotes the true art of Taekwon-Do as taught by its founder, General Choi Hong Hi, and is overseen by highly skilled and internationally certified instructors. We welcome individuals of all ages, shapes, and sizes.
Training at Ashford Taekwondo isn’t about bulking up but rather enhancing lean tissue and normalising body weight. A good Tae kwon do session can burn around 600 calories per hour!
We offer classes at different locations:
- In Kennington at Goat Lees Community Centre on Rylands Road and Trinity Road, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 18:00 to 19:30.
- In Saltwood at Saltwood Village Hall on Grange Road, Fridays from 19:00 to 20:30.
- In Dover at The Scout Hut on Northbourne Ave, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 19:00 to 21:00, and Sundays for junior classes (ages 5 to 16) from 10:00 to 11:00.
