Football championship in 1945, and the junior hurling team reached the Wicklow final in 1949. 1950's The 1950s saw continued success for Ashford with the footballers winning the Wicklow Senior Football Championship in 1953 after defeating Shillelagh in the final. The hurlers also had success in this decade, reaching the county final in 1955. 2000's and Beyond In more recent years, Ashford GAA Club has continued to grow and develop, with multiple teams competing at various levels in both football and hurling.
